Edward R. Heinen, CSI, CCS, LEED AP

After achieving a BArch from the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1987, Edward worked in Chicago with several notable architecture firms excelling in construction detailing and specifications writing for high-profile institutional, commercial, and landscape projects. Edward served as Chair of the AIA Chicago Committee on the Environment in 2002, and maintained an independent specifications consulting practice since 2002. Edward is currently the specifications writer for Perkins+Will’s Minneapolis Office, working on a variety of LEED office, healthcare, and laboratory projects.

Edward’s work philosophy includes integrating specifying processes into the overall design and production process to achieve project goals and design quality. Edward integrates sustainable design principles into his work, toward the improvement of the quality of life in the built and natural environment.

Edward is originally from Chicago, and has spent many summers in Minnesota enjoying the outdoors. In his spare time Edward enjoys social dance, tennis, and fly fishing.
